Yong U. Delos Santos, 64, of Fayetteville, passed away Saturday October 22, 2011 at Womack Army Medical Center.
Yong was born in Chungnam-do, South Korea. She married her husband Ronald, October 25, 1973. In November of 1975, she came to the United States after her husbandâs duty station changed to Hawaii. The Army gave Yong the opportunity to travel to Hawaii, California, Texas and North Carolina. Yong became a U.S. citizen in 1981, which was something that she was very proud of. Today is Yong and Ronaldâs 38th year wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Delos Santos is preceded in death by her parents Yu Chon Chi and In Yon Kim and her son Eric B. Delos Santos.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 38 years, Ronald Delos Santos; Daughter Linda Delos Santos Fikes; son in law Trey Fikes; two cherished grandchildren her sidekick Sadie âSadiebugâ and Avery James Fikes.
After being diagnosed with cancer in the spring of 2010, Yong relied on her Faith, family and friends to help her fight lung and breast cancer. After a year and a half long battle God decided to call her home.
The family finds comfort in knowing that she is in Heaven with her savior Jesus Christ and that they have another angel looking over them. Yong had a very happy life that was filled with great memories surrounded by the family that loved her.
