Wyman Andrew Nichols, Jr., 76, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2022.
He was born in Fayetteville on July 4, 1945. He was the founder and President of Nichols Buildings, Inc. Andy was preceded in death by his son, Zeb Nichols; brother, Ray Nichols; brothers-in-law, Ray Wheatcraft and Buddy Jordan; sister-in-law, Beryl Sandy; nephew, Josh Jordan; parents, Wyman and Eva Nichols; and mother-in-law, Arlene Owen.
Andy proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a steward of the land in the Cedar Creek Community. He was very active and a strong supporter of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. He served as a Sunday School Teacher and was Chairman of the Board of Deacons. Andy was a Master Mason of Stedman Lodge, #730.
Andy leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years, Jackie; sons, Wyman Andrew Nichols, III, and Owen Jackson Nichols and wife Amanda; siblings, Oppie Jordan of Raleigh, Donna Wheatcraft of Wrightsville Beach, Ronnie and wife Diane Nichols of Stedman, Annie and husband Art McCulloch of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Ted Jr and wife Joan Owen of Stedman; sister-in-law Mary and husband Robert White of Eastover; father-in-law Ted Owen Sr of Fayetteville and his beloved grandchildren Mary Madelyn, Noah Andrew, Riley Grayson, Sarah Kate, and Jackson Morris Nichols; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will welcome friends from 1pm to 2:45pm on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, at 4170 Tabor Church Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312. A funeral service will follow at 3pm in the sanctuary. Burial will be at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
