William Jackson Townsend
William Jackson Townsend, 79, of Raeford, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2011.
He was an Army veteran and an attorney who practiced law in Fayetteville.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Dr. Robert G. Townsend Jr.; and his parents, Dr. and Mrs. Robert G. Townsend Sr.
He is survived by nephew, Dr. Robert G. Townsend III; niece, Susan T. Barnes; and sister-in-law, Mina H. Townsend.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, in Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Lumberton. Visitation will follow the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Raeford United Methodist Church, 308 N. Main St., Raeford, NC 28376.
