William Clevin Toman, Jr.

August 30, 1958 — March 11, 2022

William Clevin Toman, Jr.

Mr. William Clevin Toman, Jr., 63, of Fayetteville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 11, 2022.

William spent his life working in law enforcement, duck hunting, fishing, cooking (and eating!) good food, and most importantly loving his friends and family. His family, both immediate and extended, were very important to him. One of his very favorite things to do was travel to Virginia to attend the Toman family reunion every summer! Family was so important to William that he dedicated his later years to taking care of his elderly parents until the end of their lives.

He was an avid outdoorsman and strongly believed in wildlife conservation. William was an active participant in Ducks Unlimited and absolutely loved duck hunting. He lived for the times he could get away to Hyde county with a few of his loyal friends so they could enjoy the outdoors while spending time together. He especially loved when he could convince his wife Theresa to go spend a few days out there with him.

He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and he made sure all of his family knew how special each of them were to him. He especially loved spending time with his seven grandchildren!

William is loved and missed more than any of us can put into words.

William is survived by his wife, Theresa Toman; three children, Shea Newton (Caitlin) of Fayetteville, Craig Jones (Stephanie) of Fayetteville, and April Jackson (Dalton) of Fayetteville; 7 grandchildren, Madison Jones, Ella Jackson, Avery Jones, Loralei Jackson, Emma Jones, Aydin Newton, and Alana Newton; and brother, Christopher Toman (Angela) of Fayetteville.  He was preceded in death by his parents, William C. Toman and Elsie Maxine Toman.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 11 am at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service with Rev. Eddie Brookshire presiding.  The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
