U.S. Army SFC (Ret) Levi âMr. Leeâ Bowling, 80, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2016, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Robbins, TN on July 28, 1936. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Balkin; great-granddaughter, Jasmine Bowling; 3 sisters and 8 brothers.
Levi is survived by his wife, Ingeborg; brother, Robert Bowling of Oneida, TN; daughters, Vickie (Sant) Dingus of Forest, OH, and Daniela Strother of Fayetteville; sons, Carl (Ina) Bowling of Columbus, OH, George Bowling, Klaus Bowling, Gerald Bowling, Werner Bowling, Carlie (Kristina) Bowling, and James (Brittany) Bowling all of Fayetteville; 27 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; son-in-law, Gordon Balkin of Fayetteville, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service Chapel. He will be laid to rest with full military honors in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
