U.S. Army Ret. SFC Urbano Joseph DeSa, 91, Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at his home.
He was born on September 20, 1923, in Portugal to the late Antonio and Olivia DeSa.
He was a WWII veteran who retired from the U.S. Army with over 24 years of honorable service. He received numerous medals and commendations. He also retired with the USPS.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years Waltraut S. DeSa, of the home; two daughters Vanessa Nelson and husband Greg, of Fayetteville, NC and Sandrina Brown and husband Rick, of Fayetteville, NC; four grandchildren Jeremy Gibson and wife Madeline, Rachel Brown, Alexander Nelson, and Logan Brown; three great-grandchildren Brianna Gibson, Mason Gibson, and Zeca Brown.
A graveside service will be held private for the family only at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
