U.S. Army MSG (Ret.) William Edgar I. Britt, 95, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Johnston County on May 2, 1921.
He proudly served 26 years in the U.S. Army during WWII, Korea, and the Vietnam wars.
William is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ingeborg; son, Michael Britt; niece, Angelica Geiss; nephews, Wolfgang and Edgar Geiss.
A funeral service officiated by Rev. Archie Barringer is scheduled for 11 am on Monday, July 18, 2016, in the chapel of Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
