U. S. Army Ret. MSG. Walter W. Sipe, born on February 11, 1949; went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at the age of 65.
Walter served his country through a 21 year Army career. He was a Green Beret and retired while working at the Joint Special Operations Command.
After retiring from the Army, he joined the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office where he served for 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter G. and Laverne Sipe of Johnstown, PA.
Survived by his wife Dean, of Fayetteville; a son Ricky Page, of Wade; a daughter Melisa and husband Gabe Salinas, of Wilmington, three grandchildren, Marshall Page, of Wade, and Reece and Baden Salinas, of Wilmington.
Walter spent his life serving and protecting this great country and county. Even in his death he continues to give by being an organ donor.
He will surely be missed by many.
Services for Walter will be private.
