U.S. Army Ret. MSG Richard Earl Sandlin, 84, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2016, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in Fayetteville, NC.
He was born on May 10, 1932, to the late Liston Lloyd and Daisy Belle Adams in Beulaville, NC.
A highly decorated Airborne Ranger. Who was equally successful as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He now has completed his mission.
He left behind to carry on his legacy a daughter Debra Sandlin; two sons Rodney E. Sandlin (Pam) and James R. Sandlin, all of Fayetteville, NC; four grandsons and nine great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Sullivanâs Highland Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Archie Barringer officiating with the rendering of full military honors.
