U.S. Army Ret. CW4 Glenn E. Gladle, 90, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Haymount Rehab & Nursing Center.
He was born in Lisbon, NY on August 20, 1925 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Myron and Grace Gladle. He honorably served his country for almost 32 years as a Chief Warrant Officer during WWII, Korea, and the Vietnam wars. During his time in the Army he earned numerous commendations including, the Bronze, Star, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm, Master Parachutist Badge, as well as the Glider Badge.
After serving in the Army he attended Shepherd University. After college he went to work with Strotherâs Brokerage Firm. Then he opened The Nite Owl in Fayetteville, which he owned for 20 years.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Julia; daughter, Katie Gladle of Fayetteville; step-daughter, Terie Jackson of St. Pauls, granddaughter, Julia Louk of Fayetteville; Sisters, Clara Holliday and Buela Moore of NY; and his beloved dog, Missy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Dr. Tryon Lancaster, is scheduled for 12:30 pm on July 7, 2016 at Sullivanâs Highland Funeral Service. A private burial will be held.
