U.S. Army Ret. CW04 Charles "Chuck" Clark Rogers 76, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Saturday, December 13 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on August 24, 1938, in Georgetown, Delaware, to the late Fred Clark Rogers and Pearl Margaret Gardner Rogers.
He served two tours in the Korean War, one tour in the Dominican Republic and one tour in the Vietnam War prior to retiring with over 26 years of service. A decorated soldier who received numerous medals and commendations to include the Bronze Star for his honorable service. After his devoted service to our country he was an agent with the Independent Order of Foresters who was recognized repeatedly for his volunteerism with Foresters.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Breitfelder Rogers, of Fayetteville, NC; two daughters Chris Pearce and husband Barry, of Fayetteville, NC and Tara Craft and husband Ben, of Fayetteville, NC; two sons Alan Rogers and wife April, of Chapel Hill, NC and Bruce Rogers and wife Felicia, of Greenville, NC; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Sullivan's Highland
Funeral Service with Rev. Archie Barringer officiating. Burial with the rendering of full military honors will follow in Cross Creek Cemetery.
