U.S. Army Ret. CSM Tomas âTioâ Valenzuela, Jr., 72, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away, Friday, September 19, 2014.
He was born in El Paso, TX, to the late Tomas Torres and Carmen Sanchez Valenzuela.
He was Vietnam War Veteran with over 20 years of service; he was a Purple Heart recipient. He also received numerous medals and commendation for his dedicated service to his country.
He is survived by one sister Rosa Carolyn, of St. Louis, MO; one brother Martin Valenzuela, El Paso, TX; two nieces Antonia Valenzuela, and husband Carlos Cordoba, of Fayetteville, NC and Maria Elena Valenzuela, and husband Roberto Aguilera, of El Paso, TX; two nephews Robert Lee Vaughan, of El Paso, TX and Gilbert Aguirre, of El Paso, TX; several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sullivanâs Highland Funeral Service.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Main Post Cemetery on Fort Bragg, NC.
