U.S. Army Ret. CSM Alfred Joseph Grant

U.S. Army Ret. CSM Alfred Joseph Grant, 89, of Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill.

He was born in Ohio on March 16, 1928.  He is a proud Vietnam veteran with over 24 years of service.  During his career he served in the 11th, 82nd, and 101st Airborne divisions.

Preceding Alfred in death was his wife, Petrona Grant.

Alfred is survived by his daughter, Debbie Nepstad and husband Michael; sons, Ron Bunnell and wife Heather, Walter Grant; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Joan Cox; brother, Max Grant; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service is planned for 12 pm on Thursday, February 8, 2018, in the chapel of Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park with military honors.
