U.S. Air Force Ret. TSGT Richard James Fleming, 75, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at his residence.
He was born on September 8, 1937, in Cumberland County, NC to the late Eddie Fleming and Mary K. Armstrong Fleming.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran with over 20 years of service . He was also a retired deputy with the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department with over 20 years of service. He was a devoted member of St. Paul's in the Pines Episcopal Church for over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Penelope J. Fleming, Fayetteville, NC; two sons Timothy J. Fleming, of Fayetteville, NC and Randal J. Fleming, and his wife Timi of Fayetteville, NC; one daughter Lori Fleming Evans, and husband Michael, of Raeford, NC; one sister Ann M. Gore, of Fayetteville, NC; two grandsons Andrew Evans and Justin Evans.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at St. Paul's in the Pines Episcopal Church with The Rev. John Thomas Frazier officiating, services will conclude with the rendering of full military honors. Immediately after the services a visitation and reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul's in the Pines Episcopal Church c/o stained glass fund 1800 St. Paul Ave, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
