Taylor Jane Townsend and Mary Margaret Townsend were born the evening of Sunday, February 19, 2012, to loving parents Vance and Lauren Townsend in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Mary Margaret was one pound, two ounces and Taylor was one pound, three ounces. Their father had the privilege of baptizing them as soon as they were born. The Townsend family was blessed with about 10 precious hours with Taylor before she died peacefully in her mother's arms. Mary Margaret was a fighter and died peacefully in her father's arms the following Saturday. Lauren and Vance treasured every moment with both of the girls. They said the girls made their dreams of becoming parents come true, even if it was only for a short time.
Taylor and Mary Margaret were deeply loved by not only their parents but their grandparents Joan and Dow Davis, Ann Townsend and Jimmy Townsend. The girls will continue to watch over the rest of their family from above including Uncle L.D., Uncle Alex, Uncle Colin, Aunt Bahia and Uncle Greg.
A private service will be held for the family at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
The family would like to thank everyone at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for the wonderful care that was given to their family.
