Steve Yuhas

Stephen T. “Steve” Yuhas, 53, of Fayetteville, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2019, at Cape Fear Valley Medical center.

He was born in Springfield, MA, on January 19, 1966 to the late Joe and Sydney Yuhas.

Steve proudly served in the Army during the Desert Storm era.  After leaving the army he worked as a carpenter and business owner.  But his true career was rescuing and caring for animals.

Left to cherish Steve’s memory is his wife of 29 years, Deb; brothers, Joe Yuhas and wife Barbara, Bob Yuhas and wife Brenda, Mike Yuhas and wife Michelle; sister-in-law, Rita Knight; brothers-in-law, Al Knight and wife Sherri, John Knight; and the many animals he loved.

The family will welcome friends from 6 to 8pm at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service on Tuesday, June 25, 2019.  A funeral service is planned for 12:30pm on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service.  Burial will follow with military honors at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
