Shirley Ann Kerns

Mrs. Shirley Ann Kerns, 84, of Fayetteville, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
Shirley was born in Martinsburg, WV to the late Edward and Nancy Gregory. She loved going to Lake Gaston, gardening and antique shopping. Shirley loved to help others in any way she possibly could. Above all else, she dearly loved her family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 3 pm at Sullivan’s Highland Chapel. The burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kerns; sister, Phyllis Hovermale; and brother, Roger Gregory.

She is survived by her companion, David Williams of Fayetteville; a sister, Teresa Hilker of Colonial Beach, VA; son, Charles Kerns, Jr. (Jennifer) of Stedman; daughter, Crystal Shew (Rodney) of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Zachary Shew, Cypress McGee and Casey Kerns; two great grandchildren, Iris and Tanner; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 pm at the funeral home.
