Sandra Matthews Johnson

Mrs. Sandra Matthews Johnson, 74, of Fayetteville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday morning, May 14, 2024.

She was an avid walker, who could be seen getting her steps in anywhere around town and at local gyms.  “Miss Sandy”, as she was known at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church, played a pivotal role in the church’s Children’s Ministry.  She loved being involved with the Singing Christmas Tree and Operation Inasmuch.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church at 11:00 am.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Sandra is survived by her two daughters, Tracy Hall and husband Miles, of Leland, and Natalie Johnson of Fayetteville; five grandchildren, Sullivan, Davis, Grant, Juliet, and Millie Kate; sister, Linda Ball and husband Jerry, of Greenville, SC;  brother-in-law, Marty Hyatt of Greenville, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Janz Johnson; her parents, Henry and Mary Matthews; and sister, Nina Hyatt.
