Mr. Samuel Lee McDonald, 95, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at the North Carolina State Veterans Nursing Home.
Sam was born on January 19, 1925, in Harnett County, NC to the late Howard N. McDonald and Sarah H. McDonald.
Proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy as a veteran of WWII received numerous medals and commendations.
Mr. McDonald was a member of First Baptist Church in Fayetteville and a member of Phoenix Masonic Lodge #8 where he served in many capacities. He worked at McDonald Motor Co for many years and also retired from M & O Chevrolet.
He was preceded in death in addition to his parents by a sister, Elizabeth Melvin, and two brothers, Charles McDonald and Howard P. McDonald.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
A private graveside service was held at 1:30PM on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at Lafayette Memorial Park.
