Ryan Earl Jones

Mr. Ryan Earl Jones, 34, of Fayetteville, went home to be with his Lord, on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, unexpectedly, but peacefully from natural causes, in his sleep.

Ryan was born in Fayetteville, the oldest of three children.  While growing up in Florida, he loved fishing, camping with his brothers, his dogs, music, dancing, and utilizing his musical talents at his church in the Praise Band.  He played varsity football and basketball at East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs, FL. 

Ryan had a great sense of humor and loved comedy, especially stand-up comedians.  He was always quick with a joke.  Ryan enjoyed studying history, reading, and learning in general.  He was very artistic and drew exceptionally well.  He cared deeply for his family and adored his nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 1:30 pm at Village Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Smith presiding.  The burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park West on Raeford Road.

Ryan is survived by his parents, Melissa and Earl Jones; two brothers, Andrew Jones and wife Katie, and Matthew Jones and wife Melody; two nieces, Hailey and Eisley; six nephews, Nicolas, Jace, Killian, Nash, Waylen, and Sterling; grandparents, Macy Varian and Annette and Simon Jones; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Cyril Lilly, and step-grandfather, William Fred Varian.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Tuesday, from 12 noon to 1:30 pm at the church.
