Mrs. Ruth Pauline Hussey, 83, of Fayetteville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February, 12, 2013, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 15, 1929 in Woodstock, NB, Canada, to the late Paul Folkins and Ruth MacDougall Folkins.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and a friend to all that knew her.
She was a devoted member of Village Baptist Church and was a volunteer at Cape Fear Valley Cancer Center for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband U.S. Army Ret. CSM Benjamin T. Hussey, one sister Audrey Dow and one brother Paul Folkins, Jr.
She is survived by three daughters Judy Gore, and husband Chuck, of Fayetteville, NC, Sandy Condon, Huntsville, AL, and Susie Pridgen, and husband Don, of Wilmington, NC; two sons U.S. Army Ret. Col. Ben T. Hussey Jr, of Salem, OR and Michael Hussey, and his wife Carol, of Stedman, NC; two sisters Jean Lunn, of Otis, MA and Shirley MacDonald, Woodstock, NB, Canada; and 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Village Baptist Church from 1:45 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, February 16, 2013, at 3:00 p.m. at Village Baptist Church with Dr. Bruce Martin officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Cape Fear Valley Cancer Center 1638 Owen Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28304.
