Ruby Mae Panky

FAYETTEVILLE - Mrs. Ruby Mae Pankey, 84, of 841 Montclair Road, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, in her home.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service & Crematory in Fayetteville with Pastor Cliff Wixton officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park West on Raeford Road.

The family will receive friends at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service & Crematory, 610 Ramsey St. in Fayetteville, one hour before the service. Mrs. Pankey retired from The Fayetteville Observer as a switchboard operator. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl T. Pankey. Mrs. Pankey is survived by her daughter, Connie Austin of Fayetteville; son, Bill Pankey of Fayetteville; sisters, Shirley Dorman of Dunn, and Grace Barbour of Benson; and granddaughter, Joanna K. Austin of Fayetteville.
