Ron was born to James Andrew and Dollie May Harney of Zanesville Ohio on August 22, 1945and passed away in Fayetteville NC on June 19, 2013 at the age of 67.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Elizabeth Cora Harney.
His eldest daughter Royanna Morris and son-in-law Scott Morris of Fayetteville NC.
His son Dwayne Harney and daughter –in-law Ericka Harney of Winchester VA; and was predeceased by their youngest daughter Michelle Mitchell.
He has nine grandchildren Christina, David, Susan, Domenic, Dwayne Jr. (DJ), Austin, Shayde, Carl, and Noelle.
He also has four great-granddaughters Vivian, Lilyana, Taylor and Kilee.
He also leaves behind 8 brothers and Sisters Jim, Jerry, John, Lola, Mildred, Linda, Christine, and was predeceased by Janice.
Ron served in the USAF for 22 years including one tour of duty in Vietnam in 1968. He was awarded multiple medals for meritorious service and humanitarian efforts.
Public viewing will be held at Sullivan’s Funeral Home at 610 Ramsey Street on Tuesday June 25, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. services immediately to follow at 2:00 p.m.
Services entrusted to Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service, and Crematory, of Fayetteville, NC.
