Robert Brown Taylor, DDS, 90, of Fayetteville, NC passed away peacefully at home on June 30, 2024. He was born in Durham, NC on April 28th, 1934, to the late Wofford and Donnie Tyler. Also preceding him in death were his brothers.
Following the passing of his father at the age of five, he went to live at the Methodist Home for Children in Raleigh, NC along with his two brothers, Jim and Charles. After graduating high school in 1953, Robert served his country honorably in the United States Army for two years before pursuing higher education at High Point College and later at the UNC School of Dentistry. Upon completing his studies, Dr. Taylor established a successful dental practice in Fayetteville alongside his colleague, Dr. Joe Quigg. Together, they provided quality care to their patients for 43 years.
Fayetteville held a special place in Robert's heart, where he and his devoted wife Rita made a loving home. A man of faith, Robert actively participated in his church's choir, sharing his voice with the congregation. Retirement did not slow him down; he continued to lead an active lifestyle by playing golf three times a week or more and devoting an hour almost every day to swimming.
Left to cherish Dr. Taylor's memory is his wife, Rita Taylor, children Robert Brown Taylor, Jr. (Brenda Mabe), James Henry Taylor (Ashley Authur), Philip Andrew Taylor (Anna Gregory Wagoner), Brantley Glenn Comer (Camilla Huerta-Comer); grandchildren, Robert Brown Taylor, III, Elizabeth Grace Taylor, Hannah Nicole Taylor, Henry Mills Taylor; great-grandson, Ayden Blake Tew; brother, Jim Taylor and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Haymount United Methodist Church, 1700 Ft. Bragg Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28303.
