Robert Jim Ellis

Mr. Robert Jim Ellis, 52, of Eastover, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012.

Robert was a beloved husband, father, uncle, brother-in-law and nephew.

Robert was born Aug. 13, 1960, in Cumberland County, to the late Cecil and  Kay Johnson Ellis. Robert was preceded in death by his brother David Ellis.

Robert is survived by his wife of 27 years, Suzanne Fulcher Ellis; a son, Robert Brandon Ellis and fiancee Karen Cribb; a sister, Linda Ellis Smith and husband Jesse of Fayetteville; a brother, Kenneth Ellis of Lumberton; a devoted and loving aunt, Clorese Johnson Jeffreys of Gray’s Creek; and beloved dog, B.J.

Robert was a dedicated employee of Public Works Commission for 27 years. He also owned R& B Lawn Service with his son Brandon, until his health declined. He enjoyed White Lake, trading at flea markets, yard sales and early morning breakfast at his favorite local restaurant with his many, many friends.

Robert loved his Baywood Pentecostal Holiness Church and church family.

A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Baywood Pentecostal Church, followed by the service at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Salem Methodist Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Center of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, 1638 Owen Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28304; or Baywood Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1830 Baywood Road, Fayetteville, NC 28312, in memory of Robert Jim Ellis.
