Ret. Lt. Col. Richard Matthew Alt, 76 of Fayetteville passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 in the NC State Veterans Nursing Home.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Alt of Fayetteville; his daughter, Kathelyn Denman of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Alexandra Denman and Kenneth Denman III both of Fayetteville.
Mr. Alt was retired from the US Army with over 20 years of service. He was a Vietnam veteran and was awarded the Bronze Star during his career. Mr. Alt was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
There will be a visitation Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service with a rosary service conducted at 7:30. The funeral mass will be held Friday, September 2, 2011 at 10:30 AM in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Burial will follow the service in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery with full military honors.
