Ret. U.S. Navy CPO Eugene De La Garza
Ret. U.S. Navy CPO Eugene De La Garza, 84, of Linden, passed away at his residence on Friday, September 11, 2015, in the presence of his loving family.
He was born in Seguin, TX, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Danny and Francis De La Garza on October 30, 1930.
Gene proudly served his country for 32 years including time during the Korean and Vietnam wars.
He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth and husband Rick, Sandra, and Debra and husband Isaac; sons, Chico and wife Kyong and Adolph and wife Linda; 14 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; adopted family members, Khayanee and Robert Ring; and his beloved cat.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. A graveside service will be conducted at Sandhill's State Veterans Cemetery at 12 noon on Friday, September 18, 2015.
