Ret. U.S. Army SFC Louis F. Haugh, 80, of Fayetteville, passed away on September 6, 2015, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was born on January 12, 1935, in Baltimore, MD, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Edna Haugh.
Lou proudly served his country as a SFC in the U.S. Army. His service spanned 21 years including the Vietnam War where he received numerous commendations, including the Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Republic Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal (twice), 2 Overseas Bars, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnamese Civic Action Medal, Vietnam Summer â Fall, Vietnam Winter â Spring, National Defense Service Medal 1st OLC, and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal.
He was preceded in death by his son, Gary Haugh.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ethel Haugh; daughter, Sandy Glass and husband Tommy of Eastover; son, Glenn Haugh and wife Reneeâ; daughter-in-law, Teresa Maxwell; Grandchildren, Matthew Haugh, Jennifer Shriver, Kyle Haugh, Lorna Huskey, Justin Hawley, and Josh Glass; and 5 Great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 in the chapel of Sullivanâs Highland Funeral Service. A memorial service will follow at noon with Dr. Vivian Rhone officiating.
