U.S. Air Force Ret. SMSGT Ralph Carl Flora, 72, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014.
He was born on January 18, 1942 to Ralph Joseph Flora and Anne Delores Shapach Flora.
He was retired from the U.S. Air Force with over 20 years of service and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He received numerous commendations and medals. Also, he was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Elsa O. Flora, of Fayetteville, NC; one son, Ralph William Flora, of Seattle, WA; one daughter, Jennifer Dawn Flora, of Orem, UT; one step-daughter, Sonia Karter and husband, Nicholas, of Gaithersburg, MD; one step-son, Ernesto Mauricio Cardenas, of Lima, Peru; four grandsons, Nathan Karter, Renzo Meza, Franco Cardenas, and Renato Cardenas.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery with the rendering of full military honors.
