Norwood McCullen, 88, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
He was born in Sampson County on May 11, 1928, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Eva McCullen.
Norwood owned and operated Cumberland Tractor on Dunn Road for 65 years. He entered the tractor business as co-owner with his brothers-in-law, E. T. Sessoms and Fulton Parker. His sons, Ronald and Charles, have been working with him for over 40 years. During this time he sold Ford, Massey-Ferguson, and for the last 43 years, Kubota tractors. He felt great pride in the fact that his grandsons have followed in his footsteps by working in the family business.
Norwood is survived by his sons, Ronald McCullen and his wife Geniece, Charles McCullen and wife Amanda; grandchildren, Taylor McCullen and Charlie McCullen all of Fayetteville; sister, Alice Carter of Garland; sister-in-law, Edith Parker of Eastover; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for 11 am on Saturday, March 18, 2017 in the chapel of Sullivanâs Highland Funeral Service.
