Ms. Martha Owen Badgett, 61, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at home, surrounded by her family.
Ms. Badgett was born on August 28, 1953 in Fayetteville, NC.
She was a graduate of Campbell University and a lifelong member of Hay Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her son, John Badgett and wife Paige of Fairway, KS; mother, Ruth Owen of Fayetteville; father, John Clarence Owen of Fayetteville; brothers, Reid Owen and wife Dana of Dunwoody, GA, Tim Owen of Suwanee, GA, and Rod Owen of Buford, GA; one grandson, Benjamin Badgett of Fairway, KS; a niece, Lauren Owen of Huntersville, NC and a nephew, Drew Owen of Huntersville, NC.
A memorial service will be held at Hay Street United Methodist Church on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. David J. Blackman presiding. Following the service, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall for a time of reflection and remembrance. A private family graveside service will be conducted prior to the memorial service at Lafayette Memorial Park.
