Ms. Marjorie Autry Crumbley, 89, of Eastover, NC, died August 12, 2014 after a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Von Autry, Sr. and Pheoria Holland Autry; her brother, Von Autry, Jr.; and her son, Stephen Charles Crumbley. She is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Porter of Eastover; Janet Williams and husband Henry of Fayetteville; her son Wynn Crumbley of Raleigh; three grandsons, Tyler Crumbley and wife Kristen of Winnabow, NC, Christopher Crumbley of Denver, CO, and David Owens of Chicago, IL; and two great-grandchildren Kailyn and Turner, both of Winnabow, NC. She is also survived by the joy of her life, her Westie, Mr. Bentley.
Ms. Crumbley had been in declining health for many years, but courageously faced difficult times with her great sense of humor and generous spirit. She encouraged and entertained all who were fortunate enough to call her friend. Her children loved her dearly and appreciated her deep faith and all the sacrifices she made in her lifetime to raise them in a loving home. Ms. Crumbley was a charter member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. After many years of service, she retired from the Fayetteville Veterans Hospital. She also worked part-time at Belk Tallywood and the Crown Coliseum.
A graveside service will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street, Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11:00 AM. with Rev. Archie Barringer officiating.
Visitation with the family will immediately follow the service at the cemetery.
