Mrs. Thelma Holcomb Rodriguez

Mrs. Thelma Holcomb Rodriguez “Toots”, 79, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home, Fayetteville.

She was born on March 15, 1938 “Ides of March”, in Eaton, GA to the late Arthur Oscar Holcomb and Laura Mae Rowe Holcomb.

Thelma was a U.S. Army Veteran in the Women’s Army Corps “WAC”.  She was also a retired accountant for the Commissary on Fort Bragg, NC.

She was preceded in death by her husband Adrian A. Rodriguez; one son Mark A. Rodriguez, and her granddaughter Monica “Moni” Rodriguez.

Surviving to carry on her love for God, country and family legacy are her children: Rhonda “Chris” Bazan and husband Joe, Fayetteville, NC; Adrian A. Rodriguez Jr., and wife Michelle, Fayetteville, NC; Peter A. Rodriguez and wife Sylvia, South San Francisco, CA; Carmen Zamora, Parkton, NC and Martha Eckendorf and husband Douglas, Jacksonville, NC.  “Mema” to her 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.  Sister Wanda Smith of Chatsworth, GA; three brothers John Holcomb, Jimmy Holcomb , and Roy Holcomb all of Chatsworth, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service.  A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Make A Wish Foundation or the North Carolina State Veterans Home, Fayetteville.
