Mrs. Roberta Jane Waddell Wilson

Mrs. Roberta Jane Waddell Wilson, 61, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, in Fayetteville, NC.

She was born on January 13, 1953, in Pennington Gap, VA to the late Bobby W. Waddell and Jewell LaBerta Roop Waddell.

She received her Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and her Master's Degree in Chemistry Education from North Carolina State University.
During her life as educator her taught in Cumberland County School Systems at 71st High School, Westover Senior High School and Jack Britt High School.  After retirement she continued to substitute at numerous schools throughout Cumberland County particularly Massey Hill Classical School and Terry Sanford High School.  She was also a member was member of the American Chemical Association and the National Science Teachers Association.

Jane touched, so many lives as an educator that her legacy will be passed on through generations of her former students.  

She is survived by her husband James "Jim" Wilson, of Fayetteville, NC; one daughter Alexandra MJ Wilson, of Fayetteville, NC; sister Teresa Plossl, of Fayetteville, NC; two brothers Charles Waddell, of Smithfield, NC and Robert Wayne Waddell of Bunn Level, NC; and a host of friends.  

A rosary service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 6:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service.  Followed by a visitation from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Monsignor Michael Shugrue officiating.  Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
