Mrs. Rachel Virginia Swanson
Mrs. Rachel Virginia Swanson, 88, of Fayetteville, NC, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, November 05, 2014. She was born on September 20, 1926, in Richmond County, NC.
She was a lifelong member of St. James Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother Maige Lisk Mills, and numerous siblings.
She is survived by her loving husband of over 57 years Marvin Swanson, of Fayetteville, NC: two daughters Brenda McLaurin, of Wilmington, NC and Karen Briggs, and husband Bryan, of Sanford, NC; three sons Bruce Swanson, and wife Judy, of Clyde, NC, Philip Swanson, of Fayetteville, NC, and Scott Swanson, and wife Emma, of Autryville, NC; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at St. James Lutheran Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Rev. John Locke officiating. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.

Services are entrusted to Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service and Crematory, of Fayetteville, NC.
