Mrs. Pauline âPollyâ B. Callahan, 96, of Lynchburg, VA, formerly of Fayetteville, died on June 8, 2014 at the The Oaks in Lynchburg.
She was born October 22, 1917 in Greer, SC, the daughter of the late George W. Boyter and Julia C. Boyter and was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Callahan, son, Eddie Callahan and granddaughter, Tammy C. Gallant.
Mrs. Callahan was a familiar face in the Haymount area having worked for many years at the Haymount and One-Hour Koretizing Cleaners. She enjoyed the friendships she forged during those years.
Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn C. Sandidge and husband, Ashby of Lynchburg, VA and sons Tommy Callahan and wife, Miriam of Virginia Beach, VA, David Callahan and wife, Carol of Chapel Hill, NC and Michael Callahan of Wendell, NC; grandchildren, Jennifer, Susan, Christy, Melissa, Rob, Cathy and Amy; and 8 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and caregivers at The Oaks for ten years of dedicated service and care for Mrs. Callahan. They became her family, both to Pauline and daughter, Carolyn.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at Lafayette Memorial Park, Reverend Thomas Lee, officiating.
