Mrs. Mildred Lee Culbreth, 95, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on April 28, 2015 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, in Fayetteville, NC.
She was born on July 31, 1919, in Wade, NC, at home, to the late Junius Floyd Lee and Ada Strickland Lee. She graduated from Eastover High School in 1936. On August 12, 1942 she married Reese M. Culbreth.
For 26 years she worked as a sales associate with J. C. Penny Co. in Fayetteville, N C; retiring in 1989 . She was a lifelong member of Bluff Presbyterian Church, in Wade, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband Reese M. Culbreth, Sr.; a son Reese M. Culbreth, Jr.; three brothers Robert, Ronald, and Stacy; and three sisters Grace, Eula Mae, and Edith.
She is survived by one daughter Carolyn M. Culbreth, of Fayetteville, NC; one granddaughter Dana Hanna, and husband William (Willie) of Gastonia, NC; two grandsons Reese M. "Tripp" Culbreth, III, and wife Elizabeth Gardner Culbreth, of Raleigh, NC and Lee Culbreth, and wife Jamie Laney Culbreth, of Columbia, SC; five great-grandchildren Reese, Max, Micajah, Peri and Sydney; two sisters Edna Furr, of Boyce, Louisiana, and Anna Evans, of White Oak, NC.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. Graveside services will be Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Herb Young, officiating.
