Mrs. Mary Ann Winters Strickland
Mrs. Mary Ann Winters Strickland of Wade, N.C. died Tuesday , October 8, 2013, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.
Mrs. Strickland was a former teacher's assistant at District # 7 Elementary School. She was also a talented interior decorator. Most of all she was a loving and faithful wife and mother.
She was born on January 29, 1935 in Durham County, NC to the late Norman Winters and Annie LaRue Hudson Winters.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years Thomas L. Strickland; two sons Lindsay Strickland and wife Julie and Al Strickland. She has three grandchildren including Ashley Strickland Easton (adopted daughter) and husband David; Maclean Strickland and Haylie Strickland. She has one great-grandchild Christian Easton. Her miniature Yorkie known as Poopie has been a ray of sunshine and one of her best friends in recent years.
The family will receive friends from 6:00P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service at 610 Ramsey Street in Fayetteville, N.C. The funeral services will be conducted at Center Baptist Church on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 11:00 A.M.
Burial will follow at McMillan Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Center Baptist Church Building Fund, 4210 Center Church Rd, Wade, NC 28395.
