Mrs. Joy Loraine Pomes Smith, 84, a resident of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016, at FirstHealth Hospice Center Palliative Care.
Joy was born on October 27, 1931, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Firmin Emil Pomes and Madeline Anna Treitler Pomes.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents is her husband U.S. Marines Ret. 1st SGT Louis Fred Smith and one son Keith Daniel Smith.
Surviving to carry on her legacy is one daughter Kim Smith Fourtunia and her husband U.S. Army CSM Anthony Fourtunia, of Fayetteville, NC; one son Kevin David Smith of Baton Rouge, LA; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
