Iris Yolanda Alvarez, 60, of Fayetteville, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on October 27, 1955. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed arts and crafts, especially knitting. She always put others feelings before her own.
Iris is survived by her daughter, Iris Nieves; son, Manuel Jimenez; two grandchildren; mother, Miriam Alvarez; many brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. A funeral mass is planned for 11 am on Friday, August 5, 2016, at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
