Mrs. Ingrid Elisabeth deHaas Handley , 73, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was born on June 29, 1940, in The Hague, Netherlands.
She is survived by her husband Dr. John M. Handley, (U.S. Army Col. Ret.); one son Michael Handley and wife Salena, of Youngsville, NC; one daughter Christine and husband Tim; two grandchildren Graham Handley and Lexi Handley; one sister Anne Kelly and husband Robert of Ottawa, Canada and one brother Walter "Wally" Misiura and wife Charlotte, of Yermo, CA.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service Chapel followed by a Maronite Incense Service.
A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Maronite Catholic Church with Father Sam Najjar officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
