Mrs. Georgia Mae Hall McLeod, 93, of Fayetteville, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
Georgia was born in Benson, North Carolina on October 4, 1920. The oldest of nine children, she was born to Maggie Wood and George Washington Hall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy McLeod.
She is survived by two daughters, Jeanne Pittman and husband Alan of Fayetteville, Suzanne West and husband Bill of Durham, and a son, Roy McLeod and wife Michelle of Orlando, Florida; two sisters, Dorothy Geddie of Mississippi and Faye Merz of Florida; two brothers, George Hall of Florida and James Kenneth Hall of Virginia. She was blessed with nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Georgia was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she volunteered for years. She was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many. She was a stranger to no one and loved by all. Simply put, she was the coolest!
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2014 in the parlor of First Presbyterian Church from 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Donna Fowler-Marchant officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
