Evolyn Purvis Bobbitt Joyner died peacefully on October 6, 2016 at the age of 95 in Waynesville N.C.
She was born in Rocky Mount N.C. on December 29, 1920 to Annie and Art Richard Bobbitt. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 48 years, Edward Leroy Joyner.
Evolyn was fortunate to be a member of a large family including many nieces and nephews. Her brothers Jack and Carnegy and her sisters Florence and Llizzie Weaks predeceased her. Evolyn leaves two daughters, Patsy J. Ferrell and her husband Jim of Waynesville N.C. and Betsy Hollis of Williamston N.C. and one son, Edward L. Joyner Jr. and his wife Margaret of Niceville Fla.
Evolyn lived in Fayetteville N.C. for most of her life. She enjoyed being part of the Rose Society and the Dig and Dream Garden Club. She also served as the Horticulture Chairman for the state of N.C. and was a proud member of First Presbyterian Church. She had faithfully taken her family to church during her whole life. She loved parties and laughter and cooking meals for her family. She was a beautiful lady with a beautiful smile who lived her life to the fullest.
Her visitation will be held at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service on Saturday October 15 from 2-3 p.m. with her funeral following at 3 p.m.
