Mrs. Elizabeth Lane Millen

Mrs. Elizabeth Lane Millen, 79, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 8, 1935, in Clinton, NC to the late Jessie Lane and Maggie Parker Lane.

She is survived by her husband Sterling B. Millen, of 59 years, of Fayetteville, NC; two sons Tony B. Millen,  of Clinton, NC and Leon B. Millen, of Fayetteville, NC;  two  daughters Judy Millen Price, of Fayetteville, and Lesley Millen, of Fayetteville, NC; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren ; three brothers Percy Lane, Jackie Lane, and Tommie Lane, all of Clinton, NC; and her special caregiver Paula.

She met her husband Sterling Millen while working at Radio Shack in Clinton, NC.  They married in 1955 and moved to Fayetteville, NC in 1967.  Where they both continued to work for Black and Decker until retirement.  

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  Mama enjoyed cooking in which she was best known for her "sweet tea", homemade biscuits, chicken casserole, and potato salad.  She was also known for her weekly shopping trips to Roses for her deals.  Elizabeth was a   lifetime member of Lake Dale Church of God, known now as New Testament Church of God.

The family will receive friends at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 1014.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2014 at New Testament Church of God with Pastor Kenneth Byrd and Bishop Glenn McNeill.  Entombment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum.
