Mrs. Elizabeth "Lib" Bruton Webb, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 22, 2014. Born to Paul Eugene and Mary Barefoot Bruton on October 29, 1921. Elizabeth was born and raised in Cumberland County. Married 52 years to the late Clyde Thomas Webb, Sr. Elizabeth worked many years in the textile industry. She loved to cook and share with family and friends. She was most proud of her children and grandchildren, she would tell you about them with such energy and excitement. She has been a member of Galatia Presbyterian Church since early childhood. A church she loved and cherished with her whole heart. During her younger years she served on different committees.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Thomas Webb, Sr, husband, Evelyn Campfield and Eunice Baker, sisters. Brothers David P. Bruton, Cecil Bruton, and Elmer Bruton. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Clyde T. Webb, Jr and wife Flora of Fayetteville, daughter Mary W. Jackson and husband Z.D. of Fayetteville. Grandchildren Audra L. Lubawski, husband Joseph of Southern Pines; Paula L. May, husband Wayne of Greenville; Thomas Dee Jackson, wife Robin of White Oak and Elizabeth J. Akins, husband David of Pensacola, Fla. Great grandchildren are Brooke Mclean, Crystal Mclean, Faith May, Eden May, Jackson Akins, Matthew Akins and Shelby Akins. Little Hannah is expected in May, 2014 to her grandson and wife. Brothers J. D. Bruton, Texas; William Bruton, Texas and Donald Bruton, Florida. Sister Betty Anderson, Hendersonville, Tenn. Her caregiver for many years Trudy Locklear of Maxton. Special friends Mary Southern, Juanita Livingston and Rosetta Sheeder.
A funeral service will be held at Galatia Presbyterian Church Thursday , April 24th at 11:00. Rev Shuford White and Dr Tryon Lancaster will officiate. Burial will follow in church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall from 9:30 to 10:45AM, prior to services.
