Mrs. Edna Brown O'Sullivan

Edna Brown O’Sullivan, 96, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2014 at Kindred Care and Rehabilitation Pettigrew in Durham, NC.  She will live on in the hearts of many family and friends.

A service celebrating her life will be held at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church, 804 High House Road, Cary, NC, at 3:30 pm., March 19, 2014.  We welcome family and friends to attend the Catholic Memorial Service with a reception to follow.
Edna Brown O’Sullivan (Grandma or “Maw”) was born May 30, 1917 and is a former resident of Fayetteville, NC.  She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice James O’Sullivan.  Maurice and Edna shared a special love, living happily together for 62 years of marriage.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Brown; and her children; her son, Dennis P. O’Sullivan, and daughter, Patricia O’Sullivan Pye.
Edna and Maurice’s love lives on in her family.  She is survived by her sister, Veronica Brown Robertson and in the families of their five children: Edna’s oldest son, Robert E. O’Sullivan and his three children, Bridget O’Sullivan-Kemp, Kathleen O’Sullivan, and Eileen O’Sullivan Hill; Her son, Dennis is survived by his children, Heather O’Sullivan Canney, Paul O’Sullivan and Christi O’Sullivan Natale, and their mother, Barbara O’Sullivan; Her daughter, Pat is survived by her husband, Harvey Pye and their two children, Joseph Pye, and Michelle Pye Ganson; Her daughter, Maureen O’Sullivan and her daughter, P. Kerry Brewer; Kevin O’Sullivan, her youngest son, his wife, Sally and sons, Robb Britt and Eric Britt.

She will be lovingly remembered by great-grandchildren, in-laws, long-time friends and caregivers, as well.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Kindred Care and Rehabilitation Pettigrew and also Duke Home Care and Hospice for their invaluable care, guidance and compassion during her final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to: Sustain Foundation’s Sakina Scholars Program, P.O. Box 1195, Carrboro, NC 27510, an organization close to Edna’s heart that provides educational opportunities.
