Mrs. Delaney Turlington Ingraham

Mrs. Delaney Turlington Ingraham, 90, of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 5, 1924, in Harnett County, NC to the late Thomas Jefferson Turlington, Sr., and Dona Ennis Turlington.

She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and aunt.

Delaney retired from Butler Electric as an accountant. She was a graduate of Coats High School and Campbell College which is now known as Campbell University.  Delaney was an accomplished violinist and singer who performed many musical events in her earlier years. She was a lifelong member of Peace Presbyterian Church and an avid volunteer at Highsmith-Rainey Hospital.  Gardening, music, and travel brought so much enjoyment to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Theodore N. Ingraham, Jr., her daughter Sabra Ingraham Stevens, and her brother T.J. Turlington, Jr.

Delaney is survived by one daughter Teddy I. Witherspoon, and husband Sam, of Cary, NC; two sons Robert R. Ingraham, and wife Michelle Moloney, of Pinehurst, NC, and Jeffrey L. Ingraham, of Fayetteville, NC; two grandchildren Caroline Witherspoon and Sam Witherspoon, IV.  She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Peace Presbyterian Church until time of service.  

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 1014 at Peace Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Annelle Waldron officiating.  

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Peace Presbyterian Church 3203 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC, 28301.
