Mrs. Bernice Williams Fitzgerald
Mrs. Bernice Fitzgerald, 94, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband Toney W. Fitzgerald, of Crabtree Falls, VA.
She was the oldest daughter to the late William Purdie Williams and Oma Lissie Betts Williams.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her daughter, Catherine; two sons, Jim and his wife Debbie, Billy; one granddaughter, three grandsons, two great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, and six nieces and nephews.
She was an exemplary Army wife and devoted mother. She worked in retail fabrics and among her many talents was an accomplished seamstress.
She was a member of Clement Baptist Church and for 47 years prior, a very active member of Grace Baptist Church on Raeford Road in Fayetteville.
Wherever the location, she always created a home and found her family a church home.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Sullivan's Highland Funeral Service. Her burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park.
