Mrs. Beatrice M. Strack

Ms. Beatrice Mary Strack, 89, passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014.
She was born Aug. 30, 1925, in Canton, Mass., to the late Olive Margaret Daly and Thomas B. Griffin.

She married her husband, Ira E. They were married for 70 years.

Called Betty by her friends, she was very active in the Fayetteville community and provided strong support to St. Patrick Catholic Church.  Her children attended St. Patrick Catholic School and she managed their school bus program for many years which included mapping the school bus routes, collecting and paying fees, and even picking up children who had missed the bus and getting them to school herself.   She was a warm, caring and generous person who liked to help out, and did many things anonymously when she saw someone or a family in need.

She is survived by her son, Tom Strack of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Barbara Knox of Goshen, Ind., Elizabeth of Belmont, and Gail Sanders of Nashville, Tenn.; grandsons, Alan and Jason, both of San Antonio; granddaughters, Sara Knox, Katie Benham, Theresa and Kim Sanders; and great-grandson, Aiden Ira of San Antonio.
A private service was held on Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, Fr. Jack Kelly officiating.
