Mrs. Barbara Jean Picard, 88, died on Monday, June 2, 2014, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
She was born December 13, 1925 in New Bedford, Ma. and is preceded in death by her father George Dunlap Oman, mother Florence Wady(Hart) Oman, and sister Evelyn May Oman. She married the late Edward Adgee Picard on June 2, 1947. As a loving mother, her repeated sacrifices assured a better life for her two surviving sons, Mark Steven Picard and Edward David Picard. She will be dearly missed.
A private service for family only will be held at Sullivan’s Highland Funeral Service. Interment will be near her late mother in New Bedford at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or any local animal shelter.
